Picture it: You're standing in front of a door you've opened countless times before, but today, it won't budge... It's stuck.
We’ve likely all encountered our share of "stuck doors" in our lives and businesses - many of you reading this might be feeling that way at this very moment.
Understanding the Root of "Stuckness"
Before we can begin to understand the root of our “stuckness”, it’s important to remember that just as a stuck door doesn't cease to be a door, a stalled business doesn't lose its potential for growth. The key lies in understanding why it's stuck.
It was once explained to me that your “stuckness” often boils down to two crucial elements:
Passion: The fire that drives you forward
Purpose: The reason behind your actions
When either or both of these are missing, we find ourselves pushing against that immovable door.
Diagnosing Your “Stuck Door”
In a home, the stuck door is likely the result of either an action (perhaps it was painted shut) or an environmental change (maybe humidity caused the wood to swell).
Similarly, in business, our "stuckness" often stems from:
Actions we've taken (or haven't taken)
Changes in our business environment
“Unstucking” Strategies: Realigning Passion and Purpose
Here's how I've “unstuck” my own business door in the past:
Reassess Your Daily Activities: Are they aligned with what truly excites you?
Reconnect with Your 'Why': Remind yourself of the purpose behind your business.
Identify Environmental Factors: What external changes might be affecting your momentum?
Take Deliberate Action: Sometimes, a “stuck door” just needs a good, hard push in the right direction.
Forward Momentum
When you realign your actions with your passion and purpose, you're not just unsticking a door - you're opening up new pathways to growth. This alignment doesn't just benefit you; it creates a ripple effect that energizes your team and better serves your clients.

Remember, it’s normal to experience feelings of “stuck” in your business.
It’s important to remember, however, that feeling stuck is often a sign that it's time to realign with your passion and purpose.
