The Pitfall of Easy Goals

In 2024, I set weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals (in addition to my yearly ones).

What I noticed was that my goals were often “too easy”, which ensured I received the dopamine kick from getting them done, but also didn’t move me very far.

Once I spotted this, my goals not only became S.M.A.R.T. in format, but were often the smaller “breadcrumbs” needed to help achieve a larger monthly or quarterly one.

Win/win.
